OPERATOR, TOWNSEND COMPRESSOR & BLAIR CREEK FACILITIES

The Blair Creek & Townsend Compressor Station facilities are located approximately 130 km north of Fort St. John. Blair Creek has two sweet gas plants designed for a total of 80 MMCFD. The design and ground work for the new Townsend 150 MMSCFD Compressor & Dehy Station is underway. The Operators will work out of the Blair Creek & Townsend Compressor Station Facilities and will reside in the camp during the candidates shift.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists in the daily operation of the Blair Creek & Townsend Compressor facilities, working the 12-hour day/night shift schedule, on a week in – week out rotation.
Assist in the safe and efficient operation of all scheduled and unscheduled work including: operations, repairs and maintenance.
Assists in turnaround planning, and start-ups.
Adherence to all AltaGas Policies, Standards, Procedures and Practices.
Ensures plant production and reliability.
Recognizes and avoids inappropriate risks, considers the consequences and impact and consults with senior personnel before taking action.
Report and investigate facilities’ safety incidents.
Update and develop operating procedures.
Good trouble shooting ability.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificate.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in facility/pipeline operations.
- Gas plant and power generation experience would be considered an asset.
