Growth oriented private company is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to fulfill the responsibilities of a Facilities Engineer.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assess the needs for new facilities based on the development plans brought forth from each of the Area Teams.
- Assess and propose solutions to facilities concerns brought forward by Operations.
- ABSA knowledge to work with Chief inspector.
- Manage inventory of pipeline corporately
- Perform risk analysis and economic calculations to determine project feasibility.
- Define project goals, scope of work, risks, assumptions, roles and responsibilities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Develop plans, designs, drawings, and project schedules for facilities projects.
- Prepare project cost estimates and send out request for quotations to suppliers for accurate quotes.
- Liaison with the Procurement Department to acquire the proper equipment for each facility project.
- Be held accountable for the facilities capital budget in the Engineer’s respective team areas. Report budget vs. actual spending and project progress reports on a monthly basis to Area Teams.
- Direct the Construction Team in implementing and carrying out all facilities projects in a safe and cost-effective manner, ensuring that all Quality Control and Quality Assurance is in place.
- Plan, optimize, and monitor the use of resources to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Monitor all facilities projects including daily reports and cost tracking from the Construction Team.
- Oversee all project costs to ensure completion within budget. Procure extra budget funding where necessary.
- Observe that Safe Work Practices are being followed during site visits.
- Attend Facilities & Construction Team meetings to review the ongoing and upcoming construction projects within the team. Share any experiences or learnings that may help other members of the Team in their current or future work.
- Oversee total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with code, design, budget, and schedule.
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.
- Outsource engineering assistance on projects if required and serve the role of Project Manager on those projects.
- Ensure all facilities are up to code and compliant with any relevant legislation in the Engineer’s respective team areas.
- Manage underground infrastructure maps in the Engineer’s respective team areas.
- Perform regular property inspections of facilities in the Engineer’s respective team areas.
- Keep current with ongoing industry changes and new technology and adapt to them accordingly.
- Seek approval from and report to Management as required, identify and forecast all included project costs, prepare annual budgets for approval.
Candidates for this position will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred.
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer with the provincial regulatory body is preferred.
- Oilfield production and operations knowledge is considered a definite asset.
- Project Management experience is considered an asset.
- Understanding of and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings – PFD, P&ID’s, Isometrics, plot plans, surveys.
