Torxen Oil & Gas Ltd. is a private fast paced, dynamic Oil and Gas company, located in the south-eastern area of Alberta called the Palliser Block, with the better part of 58,000 BOE/day with a diverse product portfolio consisting of a 60% gas and 40% oil production.
About this Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a pro-active and motivated Regulatory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing regulatory reporting, while providing internal system support for QHSE Team. This is a hybrid role based in Calgary.
Key Responsibilities:
Environment, Compliance and Regulatory Work/Assignments/Projects
- Support environment team with administrative/technical responsibilities, regulatory requirements and any regulatory or liability obligations
- Work with field and office personnel supporting preventative liability and compliance measures and risk identification
- Develop and review training materials and process optimization
- Certified delegate for staff exploitation/completion/abandonment technologists as required
Regulatory Reporting
- Air: Methane Mass Volume Emissions, MSAPR schedules 9, 10 and annual reporting, D60 Baseline Surveys & Well Site Screening including annual reporting and monitoring or internal compliance, Directive 39 reporting including annual Benzene reporting, DEOS sheet updates and maintenance of dehy inventory with AER
- Regulatory: Field Surveillance Inspection, Facilities and pipeline Abandonment submissions, Site specific Liability Assessments, LLR/LMR, Voluntary Self Disclosures Record of Site Condition; Rem/Rec documentation
- Waste: Drilling Waste Audits, AB Waste manifests
- ARO: Mandatory spend cost reporting, reclamation certificate tracking and file closure/site cancellation process
- In-house Phase 1’s: Complete 20-30 in-house Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments per year on an ad-hoc basis including site visit and report writing
- Spills: RAP & ROSC submission and deadline tracking
- Routine comparative analysis on sourced data. Validate public data from external sources such as Accumap, Petrinex; AER, AbaData, Wellview, etc against internal sources for accuracy. Identify inconsistencies and errors in data; reporting and applying corrective processes
System Support:
- Manage and administer company and user requisites for the following applications: Internal: WorkHub, MONTROSE Emissions, Galatea, ComplyWorks, StackDX Provincial: AER OneStop, DDS, AENV, WCSS Federal: SWIM/CEPA/EPAC/MSARP, TDG
- Proactively develop work with application developers to develop solutions to better assist Torxen’s needs
- Administer and oversee Torxen documentation & records by maintaining custody of all documentation specific to other departments
- Support groups with the generation of ad hoc reports and data analysis of subscriber companies for review and/or resolution
- Communicate with associated subscriber companies to resolve non-compliance issues, troubleshooting of application issues, instructional support
- Review internal storage architecture, file strings, naming conventions and records for accuracy. Apply and implement data/records management and information governance principles vis a vis Torxen RIM, Information Governance and Records Retention policies
- Point of contact for users to resolve non-compliance issues, troubleshooting of application issues, instructional support
- Data Analysis and Reporting
HSE Support:
- Data collection, validation & analysis and reporting
- Ad hoc reporting & requests
- Federal and Provincial reporting requirements
- HSE TorxNet – Sharepoint Documentation & Records Management
- On-Boarding/Off-Boarding
- Social Club and Charity; Finance
- Training & Research – Software, Policy; Legislation, etc
- Administrative and technical support to all groups
- Backstop support – administrative and technical (Maximo, Wellview, Other group’s libraries)
Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in environment and regulatory preferably with emissions monitoring and/or reclamation processes
- Advanced abilities in database management, administration and reporting
- Ability to communication clearly and concisely internally and with external regulatory agencies
- Experience reading and applying laws, regulations and directives on ad hoc regulatory matters
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
