Duties and Responsibilities
The Facilities Engineer will be responsible for the overall project engineering and management of various oil and gas related facilities throughout Alberta. This role will also provide technical engineering support for ongoing production operations and ensure asset compliance with external regulatory and internal company policies and technical engineering design assurance of ongoing operations. This position is Calgary-office based and requires travel to various field locations throughout Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production facilities optimization activities including modifications, rationalizing of consolidation and other potential operating cost reduction initiatives or process product stream improvements.
- Provide technical support to optimize wells, facilities, and infrastructure, identifying and recommending opportunities to enhance well productivity, equipment reliability, and equipment utilization, reduce operating expenses and apply innovative and cost-effective plans to achieve.
- Management representative for ABSA Pressure Equipment and Integrity Management System.
- Responsible for facility file management, document control, drawing updates.
- Maintain effective communication with asset teams, internal/external stakeholders, field operations, construction team, and surface land.
- Provide engineering support to field operations including management of change (MOC) review and approval, design optimization, and standardization.
Qualifications and Experience
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technology Diploma, 8-12 years of progressive facilities and operations experience, you’ve had the opportunity to develop a broad base of technical and project management skills working in a producer or midstream firm. The ideal candidate will have facility construction and engineering experience as well as project planning and estimating experience Field experience is considered an asset. Your strong interpersonal and communications skills will be required to manage several projects concurrently and help to form a structure for current and future growth.
