Caledonian Midstream is searching for an HSE Coordinator based out of the Quirk Creek Gas Plant located 50km southwest of the city of Calgary. The successful applicant will have the exciting opportunity to oversee and manage safety operations for all operating companies within Caledonian Midstream.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee and manage safety operations for all operating companies within Caledonian Midstream. This includes responsibilities for inspections, investigations, approvals, reviews, safety planning, reports, communications and conflict resolution.
Maintain a high level of professionalism at all levels of the organization * Conduct monthly safety meetings for each company. Be sure to be on time and prepared with up- to-date meeting minutes. Present relevant safety topics to educate the attendees at each meeting.
Administer inspections at work sites; observe site practices, document findings, report any non- conformance issues and enforce compliance with Alberta OH&S and WCB codes.
Manage and maintain all levels of incident investigation and reporting process. This includes investigating, interview witnesses, document findings, photograph, prepare recommendations and report to management (incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage, imposed safety infractions).
Organize and maintain all safety related documentation associated with the Caledonian Midstream including toolbox meetings, inspections, daily site inspection and hazard assessments, incidents, near misses, first aid reports, etc.
Consult and liaise with clients regarding safety planning on projects including but not limited to hazard assessments, toolbox meetings, and emergency response plans.
Compile, analyze and track all required safety certifications to ensure personnel are in total compliance with company and provincial regulations. (Including First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, Fall Protection, and New Hire Orientations.
Mediate solutions and timely resolutions of any site conflicts pertaining to safety compliance.
Notify, in advance, managers of upcoming certification expiration dates to allow for time to recertification prior to expiration.
Provide recommendations, draft policies, implement changes, and revise all Health and Safety Manuals on an ongoing basis; to occur annually
Manage all WCB accounts and the Modified Work Program.
Liaise with WCB case managers and adjudicators on behalf of the employer and employees, and provide meaningful modified work as required and/or determine duties as outlined by doctor and based on workers capabilities.
Manage and maintain ComplyWorks, and/or any other contractor management environments.
Provide complete orientations and WHMIS training for new hires (direct employees and subcontractors) prior to starting work on all work sites.
Observe site practices, identify hazards, assess the hazard risk, identify control measures, and implement controls using clear communication, document findings, monitor, and report any non- conformance issues and enforce compliance with Alberta OH&S and WCB codes.
Be available and respond to all communications in relation to site safety issues including “after hours” emergency calls.
