Reporting to the GM, LNG, the Commercial Operations Lead will support PCC’s LNG commercial operations and the LNG value chain to ensure PCC entitled LNG productions are delivered smoothly.
Accountabilities:
The accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Supervise all aspects of commercial operations for PetroChina Canada’s LNG operation, ensuring efficiency and compliance with organizational standards
- Understand PCC’s rights and obligations under the existing commercial agreements, e.g., Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), Capacity, Nomination, Lifting and Allocation Agreement (CNLAA) and ensure robust and consistent application
- Manage documentation to strengthen commercial position and minimize audit and dispute exposure
- Support Commercial Operations including the execution of Capacity, Nomination, Lifting and Allocation rules (CNLAA) and Condensate Lifting Agreement (CLA):
- Provide information and support for required LNG shipping information
- Provide support to ensure proper cargo and export documents are in place for each LNG loading
- Offer leadership and support to the commercial operations team, ensuring effective operation during the absence of key personnel and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Support the LNG asset team in formulating PCC business plans, budgets, etc., and identify and implement cost optimization opportunities
- Support the LNG asset team in commercial strategy development and contractual negotiations
- Conduct research and analysis into value creation opportunities and participate in associated due diligence
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and industry peers
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering or equivalent
- 8+ years of industry experience, LNG experience/knowledge preferred
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements and provide opinions while operating in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, set priorities and respond effectively to demanding situations
- Strong analytic, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Demonstrate superior oral and written communication and negotiation skills, particularly the ability to summarize complex situations in a concise manner
- Strategic thinker, proficient in making business decisions that may impact the assets, as well as other functional areas
- Experience in drafting and understanding complex commercial agreements
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable or handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
