POSITION SUMMARY Strike Group is looking for a CWB Structural Welder with relevant experience in oil & gas construction/facility maintenance. Typical welds include joining structural components such as beams, channels, and plates and ensuring welds are completed as per welding procedure specifications and drawing packages. PROJECT DETAILS Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project) Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and weld procedures
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
- Cutting, gouging, grinding, welding of all types of structural materials
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Fit and weld skids and structural subassemblies
- Use hand torches, welding machines, and power and hand tools in safe manner while reporting deficiencies
- Understand and participate in the Quality Control Program
- Follow written and oral instructions from the Foreperson/Lead Hand
- Communicate with Foreperson/Lead Hand to identify material or equipment deficiencies
- Communicate with other workers to ensure timely job progression
- Organize and keep work area and equipment clean and functional
- Ability to maintain work schedules and attendance to Strike acceptable standards
QUALIFICATIONS Education
- Must be a ticketed Journeyperson or registered 2nd/3rd year apprentice with All Position FCAW ticket
- Must possess a FCAW All Position welding ticket
- Must possess a valid, non-graduated driver’s license
Experience
- Experience with SMAW/FCAW in both shop & field settings
- Ability to weld aluminum in both Spool Gun & Tig procedures considered an asset
- Aerial Work Platform/Skid Steer/Zoom Boom operating experience considered an asset
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
- Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow direction/learn on the job.
- Comfortable working safely outdoors in any season
- Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
- Customer service experience in fast-paced settings are considered a benefit to this safety-sensitive position
Safety Tickets Required
- CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
- Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
- Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate
- WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)
- Fall Protection Training
- Arial Work Platform Training
