OVERVIEW
Vertex is currently accepting applications to fill the role of Decommissioning Crews / Laborer(s) and Foremen based out of Brooks, Lethbridge, Taber or other towns in Southern Alberta. There is a possibility to have projects to complete in Northern Alberta.
The work will primarily take place in Southern Alberta. The shift rotations can vary between 10/4, 14/7 and 21/7 dependant on the project. Motel, hotel or camp accommodations will be provided. Travel to site for the beginning of shift will be the responsibility of the employee.
Salary: $20.00-$35.00 per hour – based on previous experience
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience with oilfield operations, construction, decommissioning, or well servicing
- Previous experience operating loader, skid steer or loading equipment with tickets an asset
- Previous experience in machinery moving material
- Previous experience with pipelines pigging, air compressors and blowdown tanks
- Previous experience in operating 3 to 5 tonne picker truck and trailer
- Excellent organizational skill
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to take direction with assisting other employees in various tasks as requested
- Ability to communicate well and perform physically demanding work
- While we are hoping for these qualifications please apply if you have labour experience and are interested in a heavy labour position with extended hours and travel
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Decommission/dismantle/unbolt/disconnect existing wellsite facilities and pipelines
- Cut piping, unbolt flanges, remove fluids and prepare equipment for dismantling
- Load/Offload dismantled wellsite equipment onto trailers and tie down for safe transport to disposal sites
- Load/Offload dismantled scrap materials, piping, debris into bins for disposal
- Move and handle materials
- Assist in moving bins and dumping bins
- Operate basic hand tools and powered hand tools
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times
- Perform other duties as required by the foreman
- Must be able to work flexible on-call hours
- Must be in good health and physical condition to perform the duties assigned – including working in winter weather conditions.
- Class 5 drivers license with 5 years clean abstract
- Willing to accommodate requests for random D&A testing
- Required oilfield tickets (H2S alive, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, CSO)
