Equipment Operator

OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for an Equipment Operator in Watford City, North Dakota. This employee would be operating a range of equipment (compact equipment to heavy agricultural equipment) on job sites. The Operator must feel comfortable working on projects with other employees and operating equipment safely and efficiently. Experience is a must, and the operator must be able to take direction and be self-motivated.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred in equipment operating and/or mechanical field.
• Minimum of a 2-year degree is preferred but not required.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Ability to use various electronic devices (Phones, Computers, iPads) for daily field logs.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Knowledge in and/or the ability to learn about herbicide treatments, plant/weed identification, common crops in the Western ND area.
• Knowledge in reclamation of O/G sites is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate and haul a variety of equipment in a safe manner complying with all safe work practices/policies.
• Complete daily checklists and logs as required for equipment and field activities.
• Complete routine maintenance and repair on equipment.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors to achieve timely completion of projects.

LOCATION

• This position will be based out of Watford City, North Dakota.
