Production Engineer (Calgary)
We are currently seeking a Production Engineer to join our team. This dynamic position will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to apply and further develop their engineering skills within the technical team, while contributing directly to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our producing assets in Western Canada.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor, analyze and optimize well and facility performance to maximize production and minimize operating costs
• Identify, evaluate and recommend production optimization opportunities, including artificial lift design, sizing and troubleshooting
• Review non-active wells to identify and recommend reactivation, recompletion and workover candidates
• Develop and execute well work programs, including economic evaluations and post-job performance reviews
• Build and maintain well and pipeline models and perform simulations to support optimization projects
• Analyze the effectiveness of optimization projects and track results against forecasts and budgets
• Review opportunities for operating cost reduction, including electrical, chemical and fuel/flare/vent management
• Work closely with field operations staff and visit field operating areas to gather data and support engineering decisions
• Collaborate with the team on development planning and day-to-day production issues with the field
• Ensure that all design changes are documented, evaluated and approved correctly through our MOC process as per Highvale PEIMS to ensure integrity and safety are not compromised
• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with regulatory requirements and company health, safety and environment standards
Qualifications
• 5+ years of production or operations engineering experience in Western Canada would be an asset
• Strong understanding of artificial lift systems, well performance analysis and production operations
• Successful candidate must be able to work independently within a team environment
• Organized and motivated individual who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment and take on new challenges
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with production data and reporting systems (e.g., Excel, production accounting/field data capture software) an asset
• Willingness to travel to field operating areas as required
