Geological Advisor (VP) The Geological Advisor explores for hydrocarbons in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin with the expectation of capturing economically attractive new projects for the company, and also supervises or handles operations geology on existing assets.
Geological Advisor Duties
Working with operation team. Characterize prospects in detail, including maps and cross sections. Locating wells, writing progs, updating all geological data, all mapping, cross sections, geological facies analysis, evaluating reserve, generating new plays.
Identify economically attractive new projects using expert level geology knowledge.
Identify projects from a variety of sources (land postings/sales, farm-ins, acquisitions, bypassed pay in existing wells).
Apply all relevant facets of geology to prospecting (basin analysis, environment of deposition, rock work, hydrodynamics, sequence stratigraphic concepts, structural geology, geostress and geochemical analysis etc.).
Deal with AER and various geological consultants,
Assemble and review all available geological data pertinent to prospects.
Identify risks and uncertainties, estimate probabilities of success, and rank prospects.
Work with geophysicists to map prospects and existing assets.
Work with engineers to estimate volumetrics and production forecasts.
Present prospects to senior management and third parties as required.
Report the company board if need.

Work with operation team as one member of team, seek the best economic solution for shale plays of the company.
Geological Advisor Qualifications
University degree in geology
Proven hydrocarbon finder. A shale play player
Expert level geology knowledge
5 years industry experience in tight reservoir in Western Canada
APEGA member is a must requested.
Must be permanent resident in Canada or have valid permit to work in Canada
Proficiency with Canadian industry standard software.
Had been worked in oil industry over 25 years.
substantial knowledge and recent experience of operations in Canadian Oil and Gas producers
substantial management, execution, and team building experience in Canadian Oil and Gas producers.
