POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an experienced Hydro Test General Foreman to lead hydrostatic pressure testing operations on a natural gas compressor station construction project near Prince George, British Columbia. The Hydro Test Foreman is responsible for supervising hydro testing crews, coordinating with construction and QA/QC teams, and ensuring all testing activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable Canadian codes and project specifications. PROJECT DETAILS Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station Nearest City: Prince George, BC (Camp Project) Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off Travel pay: $400/shift Camp retention: $25/day CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supervise and execute hydrostatic testing of process, utility, and high-pressure piping systems
- Review IFC drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and engineered test packages to confirm test limits and pressures
- Ensure compliance with CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, and project-specific client standards
- Coordinate with construction, welding, NDE, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure system readiness prior to testing
- Oversee installation of blinds, test manifolds, vents, drains, and calibrated pressure gauges as per the developed test packages
- Direct safe filling, air displacement, pressurization, hold periods, depressurization, and dewatering operations
- Identify leaks or deficiencies, coordinate repairs, and manage re-testing as required
- Plan and manage manpower, pumps, equipment, and water sourcing/disposal logistics
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings and enforce strict adherence to site safety standards including LOTO and high-pressure safety protocols
- Interface with client representatives and inspectors during testing and system turnover
QUALIFICATIONS Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hydro testing experience in oil & gas facility or compressor station construction
- Previous supervisory or general foreperson experience required
- Experience working on midstream or upstream facilities preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of Canadian oil & gas codes and construction standards
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and engineered test packages
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work rotational schedules and camp-based assignments
Safety Tickets Required
- CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
