Project Engineer – Compression – Intermediate
We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our client’s Facilities Engineering Team. The successful candidate will assist in the engineering design, execution, and project management of a new compressor station installation as part of the Pipeline project. This will include participation and contributions throughout the Front-End Engineering Design, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases of the project.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of project activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Participate in technical reviews of design drawings, engineering specifications, and equipment procurement documents.
- Manage project data organization, document control and project filing.
- Support project management activities including cost tracking, schedule tracking and risk mitigation as required.
- Help prepare and update project and engineering control documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, operations personnel and other project team members.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task numerous concurrent activities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Understanding of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 and API codes would be an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the project site west of Edmonton on occasion.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Registration with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
- Previous experience in oil and gas facilities design/construction, specifically with gas compression equipment would be an asset.
