The Organization
Established in 2006 our client is a diversified, growth-oriented Canadian Energy Production Company in 2 western provinces. Backed by private investment, the organization has grown to 35 employees and operates business units in 2 main conventional light oil production areas. The company has invested approximately $200 MM+ to date and has plans to grow revenues with capital expenditures of several hundred million dollars in the next 2-3 years.
Team Dynamics
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you report to the General Manager, Reservoir. You will work directly with drilling, completions, production, reservoir, and management ensuring optimizing and leveraging the company’s asset base. The culture is such that communication, collaboration and peer support are key aspects to quality decisions.
Activities and Responsibilities
Idea generation, identifying/solving problems and support other team members. Other responsibilities include;
Work with existing data sets to optimize production.
Manage and support drilling operations. It is expected you will be picking several locations each year.
Evaluate trends through your industry contacts, competitive analysis and identify issues, and opportunities for the company.
Strong ‘classic’ reservoir and exploitation geology skills to further de-risk or prioritize more advantageous drilling. You can evaluate assets and drive opportunities.
As a seasoned professional, you are technically adept at including seismic and reservoir models to your mapping.
Firm understanding of industry standard software.
Experience
You will be qualified by being an APEGA member, 20 years of progressive experience in conventional oil with operational experience in plains carbonate pools. In your history, you have developed your technical knowledge primarily in conventional reserves and are familiar with North American practices in water, miscible, chemical and CO2 flooding techniques as they pertain to geology. With excellent communication & interpersonal skills, you have a natural leadership ability to foster a cooperative work environment while working with multiple disciplines. You have initiated your ideas into a track record of adding value. You are energetic, outgoing, detail-oriented and with a desire to get down to work. The skills to motivate your teammates come from years of building relationships, listening and being inclusive with peers, partners and others. Being with a growing company, managing competing deadlines is the norm. Your creativity and enthusiasm have reflected in your personal and career development. Drilling in the past 5 years, economics, reserves, capital execution are important to the role.
