The Lead, Production Lifting & Marketing is responsible for commercial and marketing aspects of PetroChina Canada’s LNG production and leading or supporting PCC’s annual LNG marketing strategy and delivery plan. This role will communicate with related counterparties to ensure PCC’s entitled cargos are lifted and delivered smoothly per existing Sales and Purchase agreements and explore new LNG customers to maximize PCC portfolios.
Accountabilities:
The accountabilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Manage, build and maintain relationships with existing and/or new LNG customers and ensure daily interaction with customers during the delivery year with respect to LNG deliveries and commercial aspects of deals
- Work with Lifting Representative to ensure PCC’s entitled cargos are scheduled and delivered smoothly
- Participate in PADP, ADP, SDS development
- Provide support for long term contracts management including Price Reviews with customers
- Lead or support in shaping and driving commercial opportunity development, including the identification, evaluation and prioritization of profitable marketing related opportunities using external market information
- Expand LNG customer portfolio and identify new potential customers, establish relationships, execute sales and purchase agreements
- Develop and implement uncommitted cargo sales strategies, including spot/strip cargo sales strategy, mid-term sales strategy and long-term sales strategy with the aim of value maximization in line with established PCC governance process
- Prepare and implement contracting strategies, expressions of interest/pre-qualifications, invitations to tender, tender management (receipt, analysis, clarification), conditions of contract and commercial negotiations and recommendation to award
- Ensure proper deal execution with alignment across functions through all deal phases
- Understand PCC’s rights and obligations under the existing commercial agreements (e.g., Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), Capacity, Nomination, Lifting and Allocation Agreement (CNLAA)) and ensure robust and consistent application
- Manage thorough documentation to strengthen commercial position and minimize audit and dispute exposure
- Support the LNG asset team in formulating PCC business plans, budgets, etc. Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities
- Facilitate ongoing professional development of team members
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent
- 5+ years gas marketing experience
- 5+ years of LNG marketing and sales experience
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements and provide opinions while operating in an environment with a high degree of ambiguity
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, set priorities and respond effectively to demanding situations
- Strong analytic, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Demonstrate superior oral and written communication and negotiation skills, particularly the ability to summarize complex situations in a concise manner
- Strategic thinker, proficient in making business decisions that may impact the assets, as well as other functional areas
- Experience in drafting and understanding complex commercial agreements
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable or handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment

Wage:
- $120,000 – $175,000, commensurate with education and experience
