PetroChina Canada is recruiting for a Marketing Accountant to join the Finance & Accounting Team in Calgary.
Reporting to the Lead, Production, Revenue, Royalty Accounting , the Marketing Accountant will complete all marketing accounting responsibilities for PetroChina Canada assets, including Operated Oil and Gas assets as well as Non-Operated Gas and LNG assets and will work very closely with the Commercial department, Production Revenue team and the respective Asset teams.
Accountabilities
The accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Booking of and coordination of payment of received marketing/purchaser statements
- Pipeline balancing and inventory valuations
- Calculation of Oil/Gas/NGL/LNG netbacks
- Invoicing for LNG sales
- Revenue Accounts Receivable management
- Related Party transactions
- Maintain strong working relationship with Commercial department to ensure proper accounting for commodity transactions and transportation agreements
- Working knowledge of various marketing related contracts and agreements
- Communicating with and supporting the production accounting team as required
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, finance or accounting major with CPA designation preferred
- CAPPA Beneficial
- Minimum of 5+ years of Marketing Accounting (mid/back office experience) or Production Accounting experience
- Experience with SAP
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables
- Proven track record developing and implementing new processes, models, workbooks and controls
- Hands on experience understanding and ensuring compliance with marketing agreements and contracts
