Onion Lake Chief and Council is currently seeking five (5) qualified individuals for the position of Board of Directors of OLE who are dedicated to service excellence and who will adhere to the duties and responsibilities as set out in the Wicekaskosiw Sakahikan Program Board Policy Manual.
OLE Overview & Purpose
OLE is an Onion Lake Cree Nation owned oil and gas company with working interest partners. All our oil and gas properties are on Onion Lake Cree Nation lands and in addition to current production, there are future oil and gas economic development opportunities we are looking to develop. OLE is seeking motivated business leaders with proven leadership and expertise who desire to share in the success of our oil and gas business to sit as board members of OLE.
Board Member Duties and Responsibilities
· Establish the organizational vision and mission
· Establish Board chair, vice chair, treasurer
· Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement strategic plan
· Monitor and evaluate the Executive Director’s performance
· Provide financial oversight
· Ensure the organization has adequate resources
· Ensure legal compliance and ethical integrity
· Enhance the organizations public standing
· Strengthen the organization programs and services
· Maintain meeting minutes
Qualifications Required
· Possess a minimum of an undergrad designation in business administration or related area of study from a recognized university
· Minimum of 10 Years experience in the oil and gas industry
· Be at least 18 years of age
· Be in good standing and bondable
· Have a valid drivers license
Time Commitment
The Board shall meet quarterly or more during the year. The Board of Directors will be continuously reviewing documentation pertaining to OLE throughout the year and from time-to-time conduct meetings via videoconference. The Board will also be asked to assist with fund raising activities for corporate donations for scholarships.
The term of the position of a Director is prescribed in the Wicekaskosiw Sakahikan Program Board Policy Manual at five (5) years. The Directors are paid honoraria set by Chief and Council and paid by OLE.
