POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Advisor provides guidance and advice regarding the effective management of Quality Assurance and Quality Control, delivering quality management and improvement support to all projects and functions within the designated areas of responsibility.
The QMS Advisor & Project Auditor completes technical process audits of all Strike projects under the QMS to ensure project contract, specification, Construction Code and Regulation compliance.
This role provides internal technical development and support to the operation’s fabrication & construction quality teams at all field sites and facilities. The advisor provides support for the implementation of the internal QMS database, processes, procedures, and policies throughout Strike.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct and schedule QMS process audits at shops/sites to ensure compliance of all projects to customer specifications, Codes and Standards and Regulations requirements.
- Analyze audit findings, suggest actions to improve quality of products and services, and verify closure of action items.
- Routinely provide performance feedback, including individual and departmental trends, to team members, managers, and senior management to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
- Maintain a high level of understanding of company standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Stay updated on the latest QMS requirements and provide operations with the information to maintain, streamline, and implement processes to ensure QMS compliance.
- Recommend and promote sufficient Quality Improvement Plans (QIP) within Strike to satisfy QMS requirements to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in current processes and develop effective technical solutions.
- Engage with internal committees in driving Strike’s quality culture through technology advancement, AI reporting structures and statistics.
- Technical procedure writing/ drafting.
- Ensure technical process orientation, layout & development are in alignment with ISO 9001:2015
- Development of technical forms and documents (structural, electrical, Instrumentation and mechanical)
- Engage and support construction teams with accurate knowledge and interpretation of current ASME and CSA construction codes.
- Support organization with leadership/ knowledge of approved implemented Strike quality program and procedures.
- Provide support during Regulatory and 3rd party QMS program audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Post-Secondary Technical Diploma in materials/welding/mechanical engineering discipline or a journey person trade certification with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality role.
- CSA W178.2 Certification – Canadian Welding Bureau Level 2 minimum – Code Endorsements to CSA Z662, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, CSA W47-1, and CSA W59.
- Certified Auditor (Internal/Lead)
Experience
- Extensive knowledge of welding, weld procedure specifications, and welder qualification testing.
- Detailed understanding of industry Acts & Regulations.
- Previous experience with development, implementation, and auditing of provincial certified quality programs
- Previous Auditing (Internal/External) experience (Certified IRCA would be an asset)
- Thorough knowledge of the following fabrication codes: ASME B31.1 & B31.3, CSA Z662, CSA W47-1, CSA C22.1, CSA W59, and ASME Section IX
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to review construction drawings and apply quality requirements.
- Extensive knowledge of ITP’s, technical reporting, turnover packages
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Computer skills in Microsoft environment including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working conditions are normal for an oilfield services company. Flexibility in schedule is required.
- Work may require occasional weekend and evening work.
- Work will require extensive travel.
