Roska DBO

Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking a Safety and Compliance Coordinator to promote a proactive frontline driven safety culture through communication and continuous improvement. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator will have the opportunity to demonstrate their previous expertise in safety, operations and/or maintenance to join the Health and Safety team in a role that will partner with the operational leadership and provide support and guidance for Oil Sands value streams. This is a fly in/out position from Edmonton or Calgary on an 8/6 schedule. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Steward and promote implementing and utilizing the client's Safety Management System
  • Promote and ensure consistency of hygiene, safety systems and radiation program controls for Oil Sands
  • Review incident reports, provide feedback and conduct necessary investigations as required
  • Attend area safety meetings, pre job safety meetings and conduct periodic inspections to promote a safe working environment in all field areas
  • Conduct safety and compliance inspections of facilities, and Worksite Safety Observations of service providers, consultants and operations

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Typically, 5+ years of safety experience with Grade 12
  • Consideration given to candidates with post-secondary safety education and/or professional safety designation
  • Knowledge of the applicable Government regulations
  • Previous experience within the Oil & Gas industry is an asset
