PCC has invested billions of dollars in an asset-rich portfolio of upstream, midstream, and downstream operations. In Alberta, this includes our MacKay River and Dover oilsands projects, Duvernay Shale Gas and a 50% interest in the Grand Rapids Pipeline. In British Columbia, we hold joint venture interests in the Groundbirch tight gas project and LNG Canada.

PCC is looking for a student to join our Duvernay Operations team for a 4-month term starting in May 2026. This field-based position is located at our Duvernay Asset in West-Central Alberta and follows a 15 days on /13 days off work schedule.  This role offers an opportunity to learn about the shale gas industry while assisting in the production and operation of the Duvernay shale gas asset.

Accountabilities

  • Assist and support operations staff with daily tasks and routine inspections, including, monitoring and maintenance of field production equipment, pumps, compressors, and valves
  • Help gather data on equipment performance, production levels, downtime, and other performance metrics
  • Track and prepare reports on equipment performance, production statistics, and field activities
  • Analyze data from SCADA systems, maintenance logs, and daily operation reports to identify trends, recurring issues, or inefficiencies
  • Work with field staff to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Learn plant and field processes
  • Work with engineering and other departments on special projects

Qualifications

  • Completion of first-year studies in Power Engineering or Engineering at an accredited institution
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Teams, Excel, Outlook, Adobe)
  • Willing to work in the field / stay in camp
  • P&ID and PFD knowledge
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to achieving goals and operational excellence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and dynamic environment
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges
  • Enthusiastic team player, has a positive attitude, works collaboratively
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Adoption and demonstration of PCC Values (Honorable, Unified, Passionate, Accountable)
