How do you fit in?
Taking day to day direction from the Townsend Lead Operator, this position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Townsend facilities. The position will be a camp-based position. Shift schedule is a week on week off working days & nights. Preference will be given to candidates who currently live in the Fort St. John area or who are willing to relocate to the Fort St. John area for the term of the position. Transportation will be provided from Fort St. John to the facility.
Term: May 5th to August 31st, 2021
What you’ll be doing:
- Assists in the daily operation of the Townsend facilities, working the 12-hour day/night shift schedule that will change depending on operations vacation, training and absence coverage
- Assists in the safe and efficient operation of all scheduled and unscheduled work including: operations, repairs and maintenance
- Assists in pipeline ESDV, ROW inspections and pigging operations
- Adherence to all AltaGas Policies, Standards, Procedures and Practices
- Reporting of facilities safety incidents
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic
What you must have:
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Enrolled in a Power Engineering Program working towards a 4th Class Power Engineering certificate
- Gas plant and power generation experience would be considered an asset
Where you’ll be working:
The Townsend facilities are located approximately 125 km northwest of Fort St. John. The Townsend facilities are shallow cut gas trains designed to process 297 mmscfd of raw sweet gas. Construction & commissioning of a sweet gas deep cut train designed to process 198 mmscfd is also currently underway. This position will be a camp-based position. Shift schedule is a week on week off. Preference will be given to candidates who currently live in the Fort St. John area or who are willing to relocate to the Fort St. John area.
