Hydrogeologist
SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level contaminated site assessment and remediation professional to join the Corporate Integration and Special Projects (CISP) Division as a Senior Hydrogeologist (Competition #23-01-0614) with a primary focus on Remediation work scopes. This is a full-time position based out of Summits Calgary office, your home office, or ideally a combination of both.
JOB DUTIES:
You will carry out your duties in consultation with the Senior Hydrogeologist/Groundwater & Remediation Manager within CISP. The primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide Senior Technical review on regulatory and environmental monitoring and closure reports
- Technical lead on remediation programs
- Review various technical reports
- Generate environmental plans
- Project Manager field responsibilities such as site visits and providing guidance and mentorship to field personnel
- Managing groundwater sampling programs
- Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs
- Ensure that current Summit Health and Safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed in all work practices
You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Remediation experience, preferably in upstream oil and gas at both field and project management levels
- Minimum 10 years environmental experience in oil and gas
- Experience in risk assessment and guideline modification
- Minimum 5 years experience conducting groundwater field programs including groundwater monitoring/sampling and reporting
- Proven safety record
- Strong technical writing
- Excellent communicator with pragmatic problem solving and strong leadership skills.
- A technical degree with a hydrogeology, geology, or related discipline
- Registration, or eligibility for registration with APEGA (P.Eng/P.Geo)
The following are considered an asset:
- Experience with supervision of contractors onsite, drilling, borehole logging and monitoring well installation.
- Minimum 5 years Project Management experience managing multi disciplinary teams
