Job Title: Senior Exploitation Engineer – RQ 22-39
Location: Calgary, AB
TAQA North is currently searching for a Senior Exploitation Engineer. Reporting to the Asset Manager, North Asset team, the Senior Exploitation Engineer will forecast and track existing production volumes, identify exploitation opportunities (both technical and economic), to maximize asset value and develop long-term depletion strategies for producing reservoirs. He/she will drive development projects, conduct economic analysis of projects and capital spending alternatives using PEEP, and prepare summaries of results from capital expenditures, such as drilling, workovers and production. The Exploitation Engineer will also perform additional administrative duties as required, such as updating project status reports and spending levels with respect to budget.
As part of this challenging role, you will specifically be responsible to:
Develop and quantify depletion strategies for assigned areas within the Asset Team
Forecast future production volumes, prepare capital budgets, and steward results including annual reserves for existing producing wells/pools
Identify optimization opportunities, technology applications and value maximizing initiatives on a proactive basis
Initiate and steward development/exploitation projects, acting as project manager within a team of multi-disciplinary technical professionals and supporting staff.
Work closely with field operations to optimize existing production and infrastructure.
Assist Joint Venture staff with the assessment of non-operated drilling, workovers, and production
Perform economic evaluations including capital projects and acquisition and divestiture initiatives
Represent the Asset Team in communications with regulatory bodies, partners, and other external stakeholders
Collaborate and provide informal mentorship when required.
Field travel required as necessary (Grande Prairie area)
The Successful Candidate will possess:
10+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas (including 5+ years’ experience as an exploitation engineer preferred)
Professional Engineer (member of APEGA)
Technical experience working in production, operations, reservoir and/or facilities engineering roles.
Strong commercial evaluation skills and understanding of economic drivers.
Excellent leadership and project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing and executing multiple assignments with minimal supervision
An independent self-starter with a strong ability to take initiative
Experience working with: Excel, Accumap, WellView, Avocet, ProdView, PEEP, ValNav, Verdazo, PowerBi,
Creative individual with a desire to continuously learn and develop their own skills, as well as build up the organizational capacity of more junior Engineers
Enthusiastic, highly motivated team player with good organizational and technical skills
Experience working in areas developing the Montney and/or Deep Basin (implementing horizontal multi-stage completions) considered an asset
