Job Title: Supply Chain Consultant (Contractor) – RQ 23-49

TAQA North is seeking a 1-year contract Supply Chain Consultant to join our team. You will report to the Manager of Supply Chain and collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze spend, create sourcing strategies, and manage contracts. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting RFx (e.g., Request for Proposal, Request for Quotation) events, perform evaluations, negotiating favorable contract terms, and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills are required to effectively interface with key partners and cross-functional teams.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Ensure that all controllable spend adheres to the supply chain and procurement procedures set forth by TAQA North
- Collaborating with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve supplier performance and satisfaction and ensure that procurement processes align with overall business objectives.
- Sourcing Activities: Conduct all sourcing activities including, but not limited to, the following:
- creating supplier category/spend profiles,
- developing sourcing strategies,
- executing sourcing events (RFx),
- analyzing and conducting qualitative and quantitative supplier proposal analyses,
- negotiating contract terms with suppliers,
- and, reporting on supplier performance.
- Issuing Purchase Orders and Agreements: Issue contracts, purchase orders, and work orders as required to facilitate procurement processes.
- Fact-based decision making: Use various internal and external data sources to facilitate fact-based decision making and ensure accurate and objective decision-making processes.
- Developing and Maintaining Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with crucial service providers and suppliers to guarantee exceptional quality of service, favorable contract terms, safety, and reliability of services for TAQA North.
- Supplier Negotiations: Create a supplier negotiation framework and participate in supply chain negotiation processes to reach mutually beneficial agreements with service providers and suppliers.
- Supplier Risk Assessment: Conduct regular supplier risk assessments to minimize the risk of procurement processes and ensure the safety and quality of procured goods and services.
- Conducting a Comprehensive Market and Supplier Analysis: Utilize industry-leading research methods to gather data on market benchmarks, conduct a thorough analysis of the supply market dynamics and assess the capabilities of potential suppliers. This in-depth analysis will provide valuable insights to stay ahead of industry trends and make informed and strategic business decisions that drive long-term success.
- Improving Processes and Resolving Issues: Identify and drive joint process improvements with suppliers and resolve any issues that arise during procurement processes.
- Monitoring Supply Chain Metrics: Track and monitor key supply chain metrics such as cost savings, cost avoidance, and inventory levels to ensure efficient and effective supply chain operations.
- Contracts Coordination: Work with the Contracts Coordinator to ensure proper documentation is developed and approved to meet legal and procurement requirements.
- Supplier Contract and Performance Management: Manage supplier contracts and renewals and develop and implement supplier performance evaluation and management programs to ensure that suppliers are meeting expectations and continuously improving.
Your Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of combined experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management with a proven track record of success.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, with an understanding of industry trends and practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent business education and experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment and execute plans with analytical precision, leveraging strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- A strong team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve common goals.
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Proficient in using the entire Microsoft Office suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerBI, and PowerPoint
