Teine Energy Ltd.

Position: Safety Manager
Overview:
Teine Energy Ltd. (Teine) is a privately held company with productive assets in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We are a low-cost operator, focused on scalable, long-term profitability. At Teine, we are driven by our most important asset – our people. Our dynamic team thrives on industry disruption and works together to find innovative solutions to everyday challenges. Integrity, accountability, and humility define our character and teamwork is our keystone. We are a proud employer of energy professionals and embrace Canadians’ demand for domestically produced environmentally responsible, and ethically sourced energy.

We are currently seeking a proactive, field-driven Safety Manager to champion a strong safety culture across our operations. This role goes beyond compliance, focusing on practical systems, leadership engagement, and operational support that promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and safe, reliable work practices. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders, employees, and contractors across both field and office environments to identify risks, strengthen safety performance, and support operational excellence. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on field engagement with strategic leadership and collaboration in an office environment, with regular travel to field locations as part of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible and consistent safety leadership in the field and office, promoting a strong safety culture and reinforcing accountability across operations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs, procedures, and practices that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Partner with operations, employees, contractors, and leadership teams to identify hazards, manage risk, conduct field inspections, and support the safe execution of work.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, identify trends through safety performance data, and provide practical recommendations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach and support employees and leaders in safety practices, regulatory compliance, and safe work decision-making.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational goals, contractor management, and company-wide safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience supporting field operations and contractor-managed work environments is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • CRSP and/or NCSO designations are considered assets.
  • Strong understanding of upstream and/or midstream operations, hazard identification, contractor management, and safe work systems.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and support teams at all levels.
