Pipeline Operator – Sturgeon County, Alberta

July 7, 2025

Our client, a major oil and gas transportation company, is currently seeking a Pipeline Operator to join their busy Operations team in the Sturgeon County, Alberta area.  The Pipeline operator will operate pipeline assets including, but not limited to, valve manifolds, pig launchers and receivers, compressor stations, dehydration units, amine process plants, and control and pump stations.  This is an 18 month contract position with possibility of extension.  The shift is a 8/6, 10 hours a day with on call responsibilities.  Candidates need to reside within 60kms of Sturgeon County.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Take samples and perform routine grind outs to measure sediment and water content and determine quality.
  • Perform tank gauging to measure tank contents and account for product stored and product moved into and out of tanks.
  • Hand gauging field tanks accurately.
  • Perform routine daily maintenance tasks.
  • Interpret the plant’s piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) and control schematics.
  • Understand liquid measurement principles, such as (flow metering and water cut).

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Production Field/Pipeline Operator
  • Previous related oil, industrial or pipeline experience required
  • Must have valid safety tickets (H2S, First Aid)
  • A disciplined work ethic and ability to take initiative
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working in both a team and individual environment
  • Valid class 5 license (NO GDL)
  • Capable of passing pre-hire Drug and Alcohol screening.

Intermediate Environmental Specialist

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level land reclamation and restoration professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as an Environmental Specialist (Competition #25-06-0716) with a primary focus on Reclamation work scopes. This is a position that will be a combination of office and field duties. The successful applicant will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area(s).

Job Duties:

You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projects
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the office
  • Field work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordination
  • Proficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetation
  • Supervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as required
  • Field and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’s
  • Data interpretation, analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and control
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Third-party stakeholder interactions
  • Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation
  • Proficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership and work independently
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills

Labourer

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join the Summit Decommissioning Services (SDS) team as Labourers (Competition #25-07-0717). This position will be predominately field work based out of Lloydminster, Alberta.
 

What to Expect:

This role will work in hands-on capacity in a fast-paced team environment, supporting various projects completing pipeline/facility decommissioning or maintenance throughout the Lloydminster and surrounding area. You will be working 10 to 12 hours per day on a shift which may vary from Monday to Friday, through to 24 days on and 6 days off.

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, and an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated Professionals.

 

 

Job Duties:

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following;

  • assist with hoisting, rigging and picker operations,
  • ground excavation with hand tools,
  • install and remove bolted/threaded pipe connections,
  • support day to day and on-site job tasks,
  • aid in job completion,
  • embody and promote safety in all tasks,
  • assist in loading and mobilizing equipment and tools as projects demand, and operate various equipment and tools, as directed by lead(s).

Candidates must be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary, fast paced project team environment and able to undertake a variety of project related tasks, deadlines and ability to work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions and isolated locations.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent,
  • Ability to take initiative, ownership and work independently with excellent problem-solving skills, and
  • Possess exceptional understanding of safety processes/tools and hazard recognition.
  • Ability to lift weights of up to 50lbs, repetitively.
  • This is a physically demanding role, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a functional fitness test prior to successful employment

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract,
  • Experience in pipeline/facility abandonment services,

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Fabrication Shop Foreman plays a critical role in ensuring the successful and safe completion of day-to-day tasks in the fabrication shop, working closely with the Coordinator to meet operational goals. This position requires a balance of strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on involvement to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in all activities. The successful candidate will lead by example, mentor team members, and maintain a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Serve as a mentor and leader, bringing strong experience and qualifications to guide team members in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Demonstrate a strong customer focus in a service-driven environment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and detailed plans accurately.
  • Supervise and assist hydro testing, pipefitting, and welding personnel with material and job preparations, including bolt-up and assembly of process piping, valves, and associated components.
