CEMENT OPERATOR – FORT ST. JOHN (FJT)

In the role of Cement Operator, you will safely operate equipment while on customer location and during travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “We won’t put anyone in harm’s way” is the priority in all activities
  • Drive truck mounted/ tractor trailer pumping equipment between locations safely and efficiently
  • Learn to perform basic pre-job calculations including blending and mixing as well as volumetric and hydrostatic calculations
  • Attend pre-job safety meetings on location
  • Perform pre and post post-trip inspections and accurately complete corresponding driver log forms
  • Assist in rig-up of treating iron, manifolds and recording equipment under qualified supervision
  • Assist in rig-out of all equipment
  • Maintain pumping units and auxiliary equipment 

Experience & Skills:

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence is required
  • High school diploma is an asset
  • Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
  • Physically fit – heavy lifting required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Skilled in problem-solving techniques

COILED TUBING OPERATOR – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPT)

The Coiled Tubing Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment on site at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various large duty trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions
  • Participates in the investigation of incidents
  • Perform pre-and post trip inspections and accurately fill out all required forms
  • Attends pre-job safety meetings on location
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with colleagues
  • Inspects and properly configures all equipment
  • Perform rig-up (assembly) and rig out (disassembly) of all equipment for travel
  • Perform maintenance operations to units and auxiliary equipment
  • Confers with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies
  • Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulation are followed

Experience & Skills:

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s licence is required
  • Pressure pumping experience is required
  • High school diploma is an asset
  • Safe driving skills; driver’s abstract will be requested
  • Physically demanding – heavy lifting required

The Opportunity

TC Energy’s Project Governance & Assurance (PG&A) team is seeking an experienced and senior Claims Avoidance & Mitigation Program (CAMP) Manager who will report directly to the Director of Project Governance & Assurance.  In this role you will be accountable for development and implementation of a new Claims Avoidance and Mitigation Program Office and associated practice within TC Energy.  Based in Calgary the CAMP Manager will be responsible for setting the overall functional strategy of the office, team development and leadership, business unit engagement as well as overall team management and reporting. 

Leading from within TC Energy’s Technical Center, you will collaborate with various departments including Supply Chain, Project Governance, Project Services, Legal and the Project Management teams in TC Energy’s five business units developing and implementing a multi-faceted practice of proactive claims avoidance and mitigation including governance, strategies, processes and  tools as well as provide direct claims management and analysis services in support of TC Energy’s strategic goal of leveraging project execution as a competitive advantage.   

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of a new Claims Avoidance & Mitigation Program office within TC Energy focused on best practices claims, prevention and mitigation practices throughout the project life cycle
  • Design and assemble a team of expert claims analysts to provide support and services to the capital projects portfolio and projects community across the organization
  • Assess and report on commercial and project risks and opportunities, liaising with contract administration, project services, legal, risk, supply chain and insurance stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholder teams to coach and train on claims and dispute subject matter as well as provide active claims and disputes management services across all project level activities as required
  • Working with Technical Center partners in Supply Chain in the area of contract development and execution to ensure TC Energy is utilizing industry standard contract administration best practices with a focus on proactive claims avoidance as well as timely and effective change management
  • Potential resourcing and engagement of third-party personnel consultant services to support claims and dispute matters as may be required
  • Understand and identify Risk Allocation and contractors Risk Transfer behaviors and building targeted responses strategies for claims avoidance and / or claims mitigation when claims arise
  • Understand and Identify existing TC Energy work practices and behaviors that may contribute to increased claims and work with key stakeholders to challenge and change those behaviors
  • Understanding the drivers behind capital project change management and claims work to prepare TC Energy to proactively prevent, avoid and mitigate against claims in a timely and efficient matter providing more favorable project outcomes to the business

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Commerce or acceptable related field of study
  • Background in Project Execution, Supply Chain, Legal, Commercial or acceptable related field
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of related experience with a minimum of five (5) years of specific claims and dispute program development and management experience being highly desirable
  • An alternate combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to design, structure and develop a department within a large organization
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Demonstrated expertise with claims and dispute industry standards, management processes, tools and techniques as it relates to construction projects

  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and quality leadership
  • Proven program management skills with a demonstrated track record of success in claims mitigation and management supported with relevant industry accreditation
  • Ability to positively influence others not directly under your supervision
