Apprentice Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe, and structural steel on site 
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must be a registered Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

QA/QC Lead – Electrical

Position Summary Our Electrical and Instrumentation team is looking for qualified QA/QC candidates for work on a Cenovus site in the Edmonton/ Fort Saskatchewan area.   POSITION DETAILS

  • Cenovus Foster Creek
  • Camp accommodations
  • 8/6 rotation
  • 12-hour days

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience
  • Must be proficient in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office suite
  • CWB Level 1 is an asset
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Strong communicator (Both written and verbal)
  • Able to follow Inspection and Test Plans and perform a variety of inspections outlined in the ITP
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Ensures installations are compliant with applicable Codes/Standards
  • Practical knowledge of metering and test equipment
  • Ability to perform electrical inspections and tests.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bluebeam Experience an asset.
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations on shift rotation.
  • Document retention.
  • Completion of Project Turnover to Clients
  • Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
  • Distribute quality control documentation to site sub-contractors.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters.
  • Perform pre-inspections and assist with material receiving processes to ensure that all fabricated and installed materials conform with the applicable standards, drawings, and specifications.
  • Continually monitor work in progress via the QC audit process.

General Foreperson – Electrical

Position Summary We are seeking a General Foreman to work on projects across northern Alberta.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Install, alter, repair, maintain various electrical systems and related equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical code specifications.
  • Plan layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Supervise field teams while working alongside the crew.
  • Monitors and enforces safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor field progress and report to the Project Superintendent
  • Lead a crew of up to 10 workers.

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Test.
  • Possess a valid Journeyperson certificate issued by the appropriate provincial or federal authority.
  • Industrial/energy industry experience an asset.

Administrative Assistant – Field – Slave Lake, AB

Our customer, a major oil and gas producer, is looking for an Administrative Assistant- Field to join their team in the Slave Lake, Alberta area. 

Responsibilities:

  • Track field allocations and operator timesheets
  • Process and code invoices 
  • Assist in tracking all charts & truck tickets 
  • Actively be involved in all aspects of safety program and/or meetings including ensuring safety certifications and training programs are completed
  • Ensure filing system is current, organized and accessible
  • Act as support staff to Foreman/Production technologist
  • Assist with AER unsatisfactory records along with ensuring PM documentation is easily accessible 
  • Assist in organizing area events when required
  • Ensure all vendor information current and updated
  • Responsible for vendors/customers queries and updating database
  • Assist with basic administrative responsibilities; answer phones, sort mail, file, fax and photocopy, etc.
  • Create and maintain various tracking spreadsheets for designated areas
  • Assist foreman & field operators with any relevant special projects as required
  • Provide support to Office/Field administrators; assist with special projects as required
  • Must be comfortable driving between field offices when required
Qualifications and Requirements:
• 5+ years experience in administrative roles; oil and gas experience an asset
• Proficient with Microsoft office products 
• Previous experience with AP/AR software; knowledge of Pandell is an asset
• Excellent knowledge base of OH&S legislation and regulations, AER regulations and industry recommended practices.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver practical solutions in a fast paced and evolving work environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
