ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN – (HNT)

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN – HINTON (HNT)

The Electronics Technician is responsible for ensuring unit electronic standards, upgrades, repairs and control systems are maintained to guarantee quality and consistency throughout Trican operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
  • Perform repairs and upgrades to control systems while ensuring that Trican’s Electronic Standards are met
  • Ensure Field Employees are aware of how the various electrical systems are employed to specific unit applications
  • Maintain two-way communication with the Team Lead, Electronics Coordinator and Management to ensure proper standards in the repairs, upgrades and techniques are being applied to the equipment
  • Report deficiencies found to the Lead Electronics Technician or Electronics Coordinator
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new technology

Experience & Skills:

  • 2-year post-Secondary education in electronics, electrical or instrumentation or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Experience with fracturing equipment is preferred
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Physically Fit – heavy lifting required
  • Basic computer, serial communications and network troubleshooting skills are required
  • Ability to consistently and accurately identify and troubleshoot problems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Prior field service experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills

Contracts Administrator – Ft.McMurray, Alberta

Our client, a large oil and gas company, has an immediate opening for a Contracts Administrator to support their major project team. This is a 1 year contract role and is a camp based, fly-in, fly-out to Ft. McMurray on a 4/3 schedule. 

 Responsibilities:

•    Contract Lifecycle Management: Administer end-to-end contract processes including drafting, reviewing, executing, and maintaining contracts for goods and services in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams such as Procurement, Legal, Operations, and HSE to ensure contract terms meet project needs 
•    Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all contracts adhere to corporate governance, industry standards, and applicable laws (e.g., AER, CER). Proactively identify and address contractual risks, liabilities, and obligations.
•    Vendor Engagement & Performance Monitoring: Support contractors onboarding and maintain accurate records of contractual obligations. Monitor contractors performance and escalate issues to ensure service quality and delivery timelines are met.
•    System & Data Integrity: Maintain accurate contract data within ERP systems (e.g., Ivalua, Maximo, OpenInvoice) and ensure timely updates to support reporting, audits, and projects decision-making.
•    Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Contribute to process optimization by identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and supporting initiatives that enhance contract administration practices across the supply chain function.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of contract administration experience with focus in energy, oil and gas or industrial industries
  • Post secondary education in Supply Management field (SCMP, CPIM designation an asset)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (in particular, Word and Excel)
  • Experience with ERP computer systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ivalua, Maximo, Ariba
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage vendor relationships effectively
  • Thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as this is a safety sensitive position

Journeyperson Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY Journeyperson Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   PROJECT DETAILS   Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project) Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off Travel pay: 400$/shift Camp retention: $25/day   CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with installation, testing and rigging of pipe spools and materials.
  • Assist with Bolt up of piping spools and torquing of the flanges
  • Assist with Hydrotesting of piping spools
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and aid in other activities.
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Return tools back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift.
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices.
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
  • Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate
  • WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)
  • Fall Protection Training
  • Arial Work Platform Training

Experience

  • Must have experience rigging and moving pipe spools

Plant Operator – Grande Prairie, AB

A major oil and gas company is looking for a Plant Operator to join their busy facility located 90km South of Grande Prairie, AB. The successful candidate will have experience operating in a modern NGL sweet and sour processing facility with deep cut. The position will run on a 7/7 rotating shift and camp is provided for this role. 
 
Skills Requirement:
– 5+ years of gas plant operations experience      
– Experience with NGL's and hydrocarbons
– Must be able to follow procedures, understand piping and process equipment
– Preference would be given to applicants with strong processing facilities experience
– Must be a self-starter who can work with little to no supervision
– Valid safety tickets and a clean driving abstract
– Capable of passing pre-employment drug & alcohol test
