Labourer

POSITION SUMMARY JEDCO’s labourers assist skilled trade persons and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites.   Employees of our JEDCO division are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety”, and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.   Note: This posting will be used to collect applications to fill current openings as well as anticipated future openings. Future openings are anticipated but not guaranteed.   POSITION LOCATION

  • Various locations in Alberta, including Whitecourt, Fox Creek, and various locations in central and southern Alberta
  • Shifts are typically 24 & 4 but may vary

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Fuel equipment when needed
  • Clean construction work areas
  • Work with equipment operators and civil crew to complete grade and excavation work
  • Assist pipefitters and welders with their work
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades required at construction sites
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Manage water pumps, fueling, hooking up hoses, dismantling, etc
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the immediate supervisor
  • Return tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • H2S Alive, CSTS  or PCST, Standard First Aid, and Ground Disturbance ABCGA Level II​
  • Previous Labour experience
  • Previous oilfield construction experience would be considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Capable of working with small tools
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Must be able to get to the designated job site
  • Previous experience operating bobcats, skid steer, or case loaders. Ticketed will be an asset
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Journeyperson Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY Journeyperson Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   Note: This posting will be used to collect applications to fill current openings as well as anticipated future openings. Future openings are anticipated but not guaranteed.   PROJECT DETAILS

  • 14 days on & 7 days off shift schedule (10.5 hours a day) camp based position with a “Daily Live Out Allowance” (LOA) provided
  • Work site located Hidden Lake, Alberta located approximately 2.5 – 3 hours from Manning, AB
  • Strike will provide bussing from Crossfield, Red Deer, Edmonton, and Grade Prairie and bussing daily from camp to site.
  • Travel allowance will be paid once per shift.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

Field Operator

Job Title: Field Operator ~ RQ 23-18~

We are searching for a Field Operator – Ferrier Field. You will report to the Area Foreman and be the onsite operator of the Field Equipment. The primary focus of this position is to oversee the day-to-day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration, and repair of the field equipment. In addition, maintaining accurate records and submissions of all necessary documents and reports, in relation to the Field Equipment. You must be self-motivated, have good mechanical skills as well have good computer skills for day-to-day work requirements.

 This is a field position based out of Rocky Mountain House – Ferrier Field.  You must live within the Rocky Mountain House area to be available for call outs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of safety and regulatory compliance with your designated work area
  • Performing safety responsibilities such as, hazard assessments & equipment lock out
  • Ensuring optimization of wells & compressors, runtimes and production
  • Coordinating outside services and providing direction
  • Ensuring proper permits are obtained
  • Using personal protection equipment required to meet all current regulatory standards and the Corporation’s Health and Safety policies
     

Oversee the timely notification of the following:

  • Breakdowns or defects in the Field Equipment requiring replacement or repair
  • Unsafe conditions or any security issues
  • Accidents and incidents affecting health or safety that may result in personal injury
  • Incidents resulting in impairment of the environment
  • Incidents of losses to the Field Equipment
  • Ensure the necessity for the protection of life, health, property, and the environment in the event of fire, flood, storm, explosion, serious accident or any emergency
  • Obtain written approval by the Foreman prior to conducting any operations relating to the Field Equipment that are beyond the scope of day-to-day maintenance and operating activities, including without limitation, any non-routine maintenance, repairs and alterations. This would include any modifications, expansions, deletions or additions to existing facilities, the removal of existing facilities or the installation of new facilities
     

Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to candidates with direct field experience and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements for the Oil & Gas industry
  • You are self motivated and are a team player
  • You possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Good computer skills (Prod View, Maximo, SCADA, Word and Excel)

Hiring Senior General Accountant:

i3 is looking for a permanent, full-time General Accountant to join its Calgary head office team. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a full workload. The candidate would also possess a strong skillset in reconciling accounts, Qbyte FM software knowledge and communicating effectively with internal/external stakeholders.

General Accounting Responsibilities:

Liaise with field, head office personnel and external stakeholders.
Prepare monthly suspense clearing journal entries to allocate costs to various operating areas.
Operated JIB dispute analysis includes generating reverse and rebill corrections.
Interface monthly Royalty, Road Use, Mineral and Surface from CS Explorer to Qbyte FM.
Assist with monthly Qbyte FM close, including pre-month end allocations
Reconcile monthly NRT and GST package to ensure accurate and timely payment to government.
Administer AER Admin Fees, Orphan Levy and Property Tax allocations.
T5/NR4 Yearly reconciliation, generate and release tax slips to meet government deadlines.
ESTMA Reporting includes reconciling to amounts paid as per ESTMA protocol.
Highly involved in looking at process efficiencies and troubleshooting.

For the right candidate, this position could grow into a supervisory role overseeing accounts payable and treasury functions.

Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 5-10 years of related Oil & Gas experience.
Intermediate knowledge of Qbyte FM systems.
Knowledge of EnergyLink, Openinvoice
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
Accurate, detail oriented, with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
