Apprentice Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY Our Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems.    Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety”, and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.   Note: This posting will be used to collect applications to fill current openings as well as anticipated future openings. Future openings are anticipated but not guaranteed.   PROJECT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Candidates local to the Edson area preferred

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assist journeyperson pipefitters with the installation of equipment, pipe and structural steel onsite 
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor package
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitter
  • Previous experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield industry 
  • Previous construction experience
  • H2S Alive, WHIMIS, CSTS, and Standard First Aid
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • Capable of working with small tools
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions
  • Previous experience and ticket operating bobcats, skid steer, or zoom boom considered an asset
  • Fall protection, gas monitor training, confined space, AWP trading tickets considered an asset

4th Class Power Engineer with 3-5 Years Experience – Grande Prairie, AB

A major oil and gas company is currently seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join their team in the Grande Prairie area. This role operates on an 7/7 rotation with 12-hour days and nights and is a camp-based position in a sour area. Candidate must hold a valid 4th class power engineering certificate 

Other requirements include:

  • 3-5 plus years plant operations experience
  • Valid Standard First Aid & H2S Alive
  • Comfortable working with H2S gas and under mask
  • Clean driving abstract required
  • Capable of passing pre-employment drug & alcohol test
  • Must be able to work with no or little supervision
  • Capable of working in both a team and individual environment

Office/Payroll Administrator

Highvale Energy is seeking a highly organized and proactive Office/Payroll Administrator to provide executive and administrative support while overseeing payroll, employee benefits, and day-to-day human resources administration.

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and comfortable managing confidential information while balancing multiple priorities in a collaborative small-company environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll & Benefits Administration

•         Administer payroll processing using ADP, including year-end reconciliations and reporting, T4’s and related compliance activities.

•         Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies in coordination with finance.

•         Manage enrolment, changes, and terminations for group health, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.

•         Coordinate annual benefits renewal and open enrolment periods; prepare related employee communications.

•         Administer Group RRSP contributions and employee elections.

Executive Administrative Support

•         Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and meeting materials.

•         Coordinate meetings, company events, and off-site functions.

•         Handle confidential information with absolute discretion.

•         Assist with special projects and operational tasks as directed by leadership.

•         Other administrative duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•         Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

•         3–5 years of progressive experience supporting payroll, HR administration, and executive leadership within a Canadian organization.

•         Experience processing Canadian payroll using ADP or comparable payroll software.

•         Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

•         Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).

•         Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a small-office environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•         Experience in the Alberta oil and gas, energy, or natural resources sector.

•         Familiarity with StackDx, Adobe and ADP

•         Experience working with small to mid-size companies where roles require broad responsibility.

POSITION SUMMARY An Office Administrator provides administrative support in the Edson office and is approachable, organized, and customer service oriented. The Administrator maintains an appropriate level of confidentiality in all interactions.     POSITION DETAIL

  • This position will be based out of our office in Edson.
  • This is a full-time, in-person position.
  • Able to start immediately.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • General Administration/Communication/Reception: Represent Strike in person, on the phone, and through electronic communications. Communicate current information with clients and staff. Prepare and/or proofread written communications. Manage, monitor, and maintain area office records. Dispose or store according to company standards. Maintain a professional and organized administrative office. 
  • Payroll: Track and confirm worker hours and record accurate data for payroll processing.
  • Accounts Receivable/Payable: Prepare, distribute, and track invoices for billing, and confirm, make necessary corrections, and file incoming invoices for payment.
  • Purchasing: Enter and file purchase orders and track against incoming invoices.
  • Reporting: Enter, post, and run reports such as transactions, project data, and requested audits.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Office administration or accounting diploma (e.g. administration, accounting, commerce) is preferred.
  • Previous experience is encouraged, but not necessary. We can train the right candidate. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel are preferred.
  • Candidates preferred will exhibit strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, strong communication and customer service, data management, team-player, and flexible/open to change.

MECHANIC SHOP FOREMAN (WELL SERVICE) – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)

The Mechanic Shop Foreman (Well Service) is responsible for coordinating equipment diagnostics, and repairs, as well as prioritizing and completing repairs and maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
  • Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs and direct project estimates
  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
  • Understanding the priorities of the maintenance department, its operations, and stakeholders
  • Monitor tools and parts inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions
  • Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results
  • Keep up to date with industry standards and regulations
  • Continually strives to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service, personal and team performance
  • Assist with training of personnel
  • Inform Base Manager of unit repairs

Experience & Skills:

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic required
  • Valid Class 1 license is an asset
  • 2+ years experience in a leadership role with fleet maintenance management experience
  • 4+ years experience with diesel maintenance and preventative maintenance required
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred
  • Strong customer service, leadership and organizational skills required
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work with minimal direction
