SHOP HAND – GRANDE PRAIRIE (GPC)

The Shop Hand is responsible for performing daily shop duties and make decisions concerning prioritization in accomplishing assigned tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
  • Ensure the shop is clean and organized at all times
  • Operate overhead hoist
  • Operate forklift
  • Maintain and operate various power hand tools
  • Work extended hours periodically and be available for after-hours call-ins
  • Report any safety or mechanical deficiencies or other areas of concern to supervisor
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Occasional hot shots of parts or equipment to field locations

Experience & Skills:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence is required

FRACTURING OPERATOR – MEDICINE HAT (MHT)

The Fracturing Operator is responsible for the safe operation of equipment during the hours of their shift.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
  • Operate various large duty trucks over outdoor terrain and through all weather conditions
  • Attend pre-job safety meeting on location
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections and accurately fill out all required forms
  • Perform rig-in and rig out of all equipment for travel
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with colleagues
  • Consult with supervisor and crew regarding any operational deficiencies
  • Assist in all required equipment maintenance
  • Ensure job quality, safety requirements, and standard procedures coincide with Trican company standards, government legislation, and customer requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • Valid Class 1 or 3 Drivers license is required
  • Pressure pumping experience is preferred

Field Operator – Pipeline – Sturgeon County, Alberta

Our client, a major oil and gas transportation company, is currently seeking a Pipeline Operator to join their busy Operations team in the Sturgeon County, Alberta area for Summer coverage.  The Pipeline operator will operate pipeline assets including, but not limited to, valve manifolds, pig launchers and receivers, compressor stations, dehydration units, amine process plants, and control and pump stations.  Candidates need to reside within 60kms of Sturgeon County. This position is expected to last 4 months.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•    Provide safe and efficient operations and maintaining Pump stations, LACT's, and other field block valves
•    Complete proactive field inspections 
•    Identify abnormal operating conditions
•    Utilize computer maintenance program and work orders
•    Perform pipeline pigging 3" to 42"
•    Product sampling
•    Housekeeping of sites
•    Perform safe work permits
•    Some travel may be required

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Production Field/Pipeline Operator
  • Previous related oil, industrial or pipeline experience required
  • Must have valid safety tickets (H2S, First Aid)
  • A disciplined work ethic and ability to take initiative
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working in both a team and individual environment
  • Valid class 5 license (NO GDL)
  • Capable of passing pre-hire Drug and Alcohol screening.

Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level land reclamation and restoration professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as an Environmental Specialist (Competition #25-06-0716) with a primary focus on Reclamation work scopes. This is a position that will be a combination of office and field duties. The successful applicant will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area(s).

JOB DUTIES:

You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projects
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the office
  • Field work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordination
  • Proficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetation
  • Supervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as required
  • Field and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’s
  • Data interpretation, analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and control
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Third-party stakeholder interactions
  • Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation
  • Proficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership and work independently
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills
