Teine Energy has an exciting opportunity for a skilled geologist to join us as a Senior Development Geologist. We are seeking an individual with a strong work ethic, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and excellent planning and organizational skills to contribute to our team.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and deliver impactful opportunities that align with Teine Energy’s long-term strategic plans to enhance our portfolio.
- Evaluate and present, technically thorough and inventory ready, clastic and carbonate prospects on Teine acreage.
- Identify pool enhancement and step out opportunities with in-depth analysis, and proactively engaging with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Lead well planning, from inventory to implementation, and managing geological operations of single and multilateral wells, engaging regularly with field and office personnel.
- Evaluate potential land sales and M&A opportunities, providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong geological expertise with track record of generating innovative ideas and delivering impactful results.
- Experience in heavy oil projects and development.
- Successful track record of pool appraisal and development.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical information effectively.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as Spotfire, Geoscout, Seisware, or similar applications.
- Post-Secondary education in the field of Geoscience and current member of APEGA.
- 10+ years of experience in the following:
- Exploration and development in Western Canada Sedimentary Basin.
- Basin and play analysis including understanding basin evolution, depositional environments. and stratigraphy, petroleum systems, burial history, and reservoir characterization.
- Identification of play fairways, prospect ranking, volumetric assessment, reserves estimation and analysis, and risk assessment.
- Synthesis of diverse datasets including geological and geophysical data, for interpretation and integration into well performance.
