Harvest has an immediate opening for a Team Lead, Safety, Health, Environment and Regulatory, reporting to the Vice President, Operations. This is a permanent position based out of the Calgary corporate office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Harvest safety culture through demonstrating commitment, training and encouraging employee involvement by regularly communicating the importance of HSE.
• Ensure HSE policies, procedures and guidelines are effective and that required resources are available.
• In partnership with other functional groups, set HSE strategy, objectives & performance targets and track and report the effectiveness of HSE initiatives.
• Provide clear and actionable direction to Business Units on all HSE matters.
• Stay current with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all industryrelated HSE developments and evaluate the impact of emerging HSE regulations.
• Manage HSE compliance monitoring and verification activity within Business Units to ensure consistency with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with regulators, including, but not limited to, the AER, IOGC, OGC, OH&S and the WCB.
• Develop and steward a risk management program for core processes and activities.
• Manage incident reporting & investigation requirements, ensuring root cause analysis, corrective actions and communications are completed as required.
• Manage Emergency Management programs, awareness and training requirements.
• Steward core environmental and regulatory requirements, including emissions management, environmental compliance monitoring & reporting and environmental liability management, and ensure compliance is maintained.
• Manage hiring, orientation, performance and career development for the HSE team.
• Establish and manage the budget for the HSE department.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the management of HSE processes.
• A minimum of 5 years of management-level experience.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety or other HSE related areas.
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and policies related to occupational health & safety and the environment.
