Program Overview

  • Duration: 2–3 years (based on your experience and progression)

Crew Foreperson

POSITION SUMMARY Pipefitter Crew Forepersons are responsible for providing direction and on-site leadership to their assigned labourers while finding ways to continuously improve the production processes, procedures, and equipment.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   POSITION DETAILS

  • Project starts in July
  • 2-3 month project duration
  • Work is local to the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area
  • Preference will be given to local candidates

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Operate 2-5 ton picker trucks, telehandlers, skid steers, and AWPs
  • Participate in daily Toolbox Meetings
  • Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
  • Complete Task Hazard Assessments, Drivers Logs, and review Job Site Assessments
  • Manage and maintain client relationships
  • Apply project procedures, work site policies and collective agreement requirements
  • Ensure quality and inspection of installation
  • Complete quality reports and required statistics
  • Inform the superintendent of any out-of-scope work
  • Move equipment and materials between sites
  • Load and unload construction materials and equipment for transporting to work locations, following applicable safety securement protocols
  • Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervisor
  • Maintain all equipment and tools in good and safe working condition and report any findings to the lead hand
  • Manage and perform general housekeeping and daily clean-up of work areas
  • Lead crews and ensure safe execution of work scopes related to Mechanical/ Pipefitting
  • Must be experienced in Rigging of spools, steel, pumps, etc
  • Teach, mentor and guide crews

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority

Training

  • Must have valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP tickets

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must be willing to travel to site
  • Must Possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our client’s Facilities Engineering Team. The successful candidate will assist in the engineering design, execution, and project management of a new compressor station installation as part of the Pipeline project. This will include participation and contributions throughout the Front-End Engineering Design, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases of the project.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of project activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in technical reviews of design drawings, engineering specifications, and equipment procurement documents.
  • Manage project data organization, document control and project filing.
  • Support project management activities including cost tracking, schedule tracking and risk mitigation as required.
  • Help prepare and update project and engineering control documents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, operations personnel and other project team members.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task numerous concurrent activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 and API codes would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the project site west of Edmonton on occasion.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Registration with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
  • Previous experience in oil and gas facilities design/construction, specifically with gas compression equipment would be an asset.

Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Intermediate

Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer – Intermediate

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our client’s Facilities Engineering Team. The successful candidate will assist in the engineering design, execution, and project management of a new compressor station installation as part of the Pipeline project. This will include participation and contributions throughout the Front-End Engineering Design, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases of the project.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of project activities to ensure the timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in technical reviews of design drawings, engineering specifications, and equipment procurement documents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, operations personnel and other project team members.
  • Review electrical power system designs up to 25 kV, and emergency power systems.
  • Review of electrical analyses for power systems, VFDs, medium voltage motors, and low voltage systems.
  • Review instrumentation and process control devices for electrical systems and natural gas processes within the scope of a compressor station.
  • Review electrical and instrumentation specifications, data sheets, control narratives, shutdown keys, and P&IDs.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task numerous concurrent activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of Alberta OH&S code, ASME, CSA (including but not limited to C22.1, Z662, Z462, and Z767), IEEE, and ISA would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of electrical studies, including Short Circuit Analysis, Protection & Coordination Studies, Arc-Flash Hazard, Harmonic Study, Low-flow Analysis, Grounding Study.
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation engineering concepts, Safety Instrumented Systems and Safety Instrumented Functions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the project site west of Edmonton on occasion.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Registration with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
  • Previous experience in oil and gas facilities design/construction, specifically with gas compression equipment, would be an asset.
  • Experience in electrical-related design and commissioning, including power systems, variable frequency drives, instrumentation, and control systems.

Field Operator – Contract

Field Operator

We are currently seeking a Field Operator to work with our field-based team. This role will report directly to the Field Foreman.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of wells and associated facilities

·         Compliance with all production reporting practices and be familiar with Prodman

·         Contribute to successful daily execution of job tasks: maintaining base production targets, compliance with health, safety, environment responsibilities, identifying opportunities to maximize production, reduce downtime and reduce operating costs

·         Provide insight into equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

·         Ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to maintain the corporation’s high standard

 

Qualifications

·         5 – 10+ years of experience in sour related operations

·         Must have valid First Aid, H2S, Pre-Confined Space, Ground Disturbance Level 2, TDG, WHMIS

·         Must have a suitable mode of transport to access all lease sites

·         A successful candidate must be able to work independently within a team environment

·         Must be ready and always fit for duty
