Apprentice HET / Shop Labourer

Job Description:

MPI Oilfield is looking for an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Tech or Shop Labourer to join our Shop team! This is a role for someone who is independent, solution focused, able to work well with people and can follow direction to complete work in a safe and timely manner.

 

Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
Assist with performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment.
Operate power tools and hand tools safely to complete repairs efficiently
Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during heavy lifting and equipment operation
Read and interpret technical schematics and manuals for proper maintenance procedures
Assist with the installation of new equipment and system upgrades
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
Team Player who can assist with a variety of shop tasks, general shop maintenance and clean up.
 

Skills you bring:

Mechanically inclined
Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively
Experience reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting purposes
Capable of performing heavy lifting safely and working in physically demanding environments
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Prior experience working with industrial equipment or as a mechanic is preferred
Valid certifications related to heavy machinery operation or electrical work are a plus

Requirements:

Previous work experience or education in a mechanical field considered an asset.
Class 5 drive license, No GDL an asset
Own transportation to the Shop
Construction Safety Orientation
Clean Drug and Alcohol test

Solids Control Specialist

Job Description
MPI Oilfield is looking for a Class 1 Driver / Labourer to join our growing team. This role supports project delivery by transporting equipment, materials as needed, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. If you’re a team player who enjoys working outdoors in a fast-paced work environment, this job is for you!

Skills You Bring:
Operate Class 1 vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, winch trucks, boom trucks) to transport goods and equipment between job sites.
Operate and maintain truck and haul, load, and off-load equipment.
Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports, logbook and safety documents.
Understand and obey all provincial and federal highway rules and regulations.
Ensure equipment meets operational and safety requirements.
Operate company vehicles and equipment in a professional, safe and courteous manner and practice proper legal load securement.
Safety focused and strictly observe all company and client safety requirements.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Perform physically demanding work (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis).
Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as required.

Solids Control Technician

The Solids Control Technician is responsible for the service, repair, maintenance, and operation of Apex solids control equipment. The Solids Control Technician will be required to work in the shop, yard, and field. This is a Monday – Friday, 8AM to 5PM position with the opportunity for overtime depending on activity and call-outs. Our ideal candidate will have previous derrick, centrifuge and/or solids control experience.

Labourer

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to join the Summit Decommissioning Services (SDS) team as Labourers (Competition #26-04-0748). This position will be predominately field work based out of Lloydminster, Alberta.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

This role will work in hands-on capacity in a fast-paced team environment, supporting various projects completing pipeline/facility decommissioning or maintenance throughout the Lloydminster and surrounding area. You will be working 10 to 12 hours per day on a shift which may vary from Monday to Friday, through to 24 days on and 6 days off.

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of technical administrators, business development professionals, and an in-house IT department and many other highly experienced, skilled and educated Professionals.

JOB DUTIES:

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following;

  • assist with hoisting, rigging and picker operations,
  • ground excavation with hand tools,
  • install and remove bolted/threaded pipe connections,
  • support day to day and on-site job tasks,
  • aid in job completion,
  • embody and promote safety in all tasks,
  • assist in loading and mobilizing equipment and tools as projects demand, and
  • operate various equipment and tools, as directed by lead(s).

Candidates must be prepared to work in a multidisciplinary, fast paced project team environment and able to undertake a variety of project related tasks, deadlines and ability to work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions and isolated locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent,
  • Ability to take initiative, ownership and work independently with excellent problem-solving skills, and
  • Possess exceptional understanding of safety processes/tools and hazard recognition.
  • Ability to lift weights of up to 50lbs, repetitively.
  • This is a physically demanding role, the candidate will be required to successfully complete a functional fitness test prior to successful employment

 

The following are considered an asset;

  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract,
  • Experience in pipeline/facility abandonment services, Oil & Gas field services, or Energy and Utilities industry related experience,
  • Current H2S, 1st Aid, H2S, Ground Disturbance certifications
  • Experience operating equipment (skid steer)
