Integrity Labourer

POSITION SUMMARY Strike’s Labourers assist skilled trade persons and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety”, and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.   Note: This posting will be used to collect applications to fill current openings as well as anticipated future openings. Future openings are anticipated but not guaranteed.   CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist with installation, testing and rigging of spools and materials
  • Identify and report hazards or unsafe work practices
  • Clean construction work areas and fuel equipment where needed.
  • Work with equipment operators and civil crew to complete grade and excavation work
  • Assist pipefitters and civil groups with their work
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in safely moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
  • Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and measures to eliminate or minimize them
  • Correct unsafe acts and bring unsafe conditions to the attention of the immediate supervisor
  • Return tools (clean) back to the proper area after the job is complete or at the end of the shift
  • Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks 

EXPERIENCE

  • Must have previous experience as a labourer on pipeline integrity digs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Standard First Aid, Ground Disturbance Level 2, fall protection, manlift training and confined space considered an asset
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous pipeline or facility specific construction experience is an asset
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Capable of working with small tools
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions

Intermediate Environmental Specialist

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level land reclamation and restoration professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as an Environmental Specialist (Competition #25-06-0716) with a primary focus on Reclamation work scopes. This is a position that will be a combination of office and field duties. The successful applicant will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area(s).

Job Duties:

You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projects
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the office
  • Field work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordination
  • Proficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetation
  • Supervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as required
  • Field and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’s
  • Data interpretation, analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and control
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Third-party stakeholder interactions
  • Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation
  • Proficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership and work independently
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills

Teine has an immediate opening for two full‐time Contract Operator’s in the Carrot Creek area, reporting to the area Foreman.

Responsibilities:

  • Safe and efficient operation of facilities and wells.
  • Identify hazards, complete reporting and corrective actions as required.
  • Effectively manage the daily operation of wells, pumpjacks, compression and gas lift equipment.
  • Complete routine maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Provide creative and effective problem solving of issues that arise in the operation.
  • Contribute to successful daily execution of the business plan by identifying opportunities to maximize production, minimize operating costs and reduce/eliminate downtime.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean to meet/exceed company standards.
  • Issue safe work permits, ensure vendors are complying with company standards.
  • Ability to work 8 days on, 6 days Off (10 Hrs/Day) shift. Must be available to respond after regular work hours when on shift.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Contract position.
  • Minimum 2 Years of Operating experience.
  • Experience with high-volume, high-pressure wells would be considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and provide clean driver’s abstract.
  • Company must be incorporated.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid H2S, First aid/CPR tickets.

Project Engineer – Compression – Intermediate

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our client’s Facilities Engineering Team. The successful candidate will assist in the engineering design, execution, and project management of a new compressor station installation as part of the Pipeline project. This will include participation and contributions throughout the Front-End Engineering Design, Detailed Engineering, Construction, and Commissioning phases of the project.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of project activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Participate in technical reviews of design drawings, engineering specifications, and equipment procurement documents.
  • Manage project data organization, document control and project filing.
  • Support project management activities including cost tracking, schedule tracking and risk mitigation as required.
  • Help prepare and update project and engineering control documents.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering consultants, operations personnel and other project team members.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task numerous concurrent activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 and API codes would be an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the project site west of Edmonton on occasion.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Registration with APEGA as an EIT or P.Eng.
  • Previous experience in oil and gas facilities design/construction, specifically with gas compression equipment would be an asset.
