Field Operator – Contract

Highvale Energy is a Calgary based junior oil company focused on oil and gas development in western Canada. The successful candidate will be local to the field as no camp or subsistence is provided.

Field Operator

We are currently seeking a Field Operator to work with our field-based team. This role will report directly to the Field Foreman.

 

Key Responsibilities

·         Manage and maintain day-to-day operations of wells and associated facilities

·         Compliance with all production reporting practices and be familiar with Prodman

·         Contribute to successful daily execution of job tasks: maintaining base production targets, compliance with health, safety, environment responsibilities, identifying opportunities to maximize production, reduce downtime and reduce operating costs

·         Provide insight into equipment maintenance and troubleshooting

·         Ensure all aspects of regulatory compliance are adhered to maintain the corporation’s high standard

 

Qualifications

·         5 – 10+ years of experience in sour related operations

·         Must have valid First Aid, H2S, Pre-Confined Space, Ground Disturbance Level 2, TDG, WHMIS

·         Must have a suitable mode of transport to access all lease sites

·         A successful candidate must be able to work independently within a team environment

·         Must be ready and always fit for duty

Journeyperson B-Pressure Welder

POSITION SUMMARY Journeyperson B-Pressure Welders work in shop fabrication and module-based setting on projects that include joining components such as beams, girders, vessels, and piping and ensure all jobs are completed as per welding procedure specifications, weld maps, and work packages. Our welders take pride in their trade and see that Strike’s high standards of safety and quality are always met.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project starts in July
  • 2-3 month project duration
  • Work is local to the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area
  • Preference will be given to local candidates

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with non-destructive Testing Inspector
  • Welding of pipe spools with an emphasis on Safety, Quality and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and Strike’s weld procedures
  • Multiple Welding Process’
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
  • Interpret Acorn drawings

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority
  • Must possess an ABSA Grade ‘B’ Pressure Welder certificate

Training

  • Must have valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP tickets

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
  • Able to interpret Acorn drawings
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working outdoors

Journeyperson Ironworker

POSITION SUMMARY Working within Strike’s Project Group, Journeyperson Ironworkers assist in laying out, installing and fabricating structural steel in live and greenfield environments. Work assignments include cutting steel, interpreting blueprints, rigging, directing cranes, assisting welders and setting structural steel.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect and fairness.   PROJECT DETAILS

  • Project starts in July
  • 2-3 month project duration
  • Work is local to the Cold Lake/Bonnyville area
  • Preference will be given to local candidates

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read blueprints and specifications to lay out the work
  • Assemble and erect pre-fabricated structural supports
  • Signal crane operator to position steel units according to 
  • Erect and install hoisting, equipment and rigging
  • Position steel units, align holes and insert temporary bolts
  • Unload and install pre-cast components
  • Performs physically demanding tasks such as lifting and moving structural steel/plates while standing for extended periods of time and securing steel in hard to reach areas
  • Identifies, initiates, recommends, and assists in issue resolution processes
  • Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of power tools and hand tools appropriate for the job
  • May perform other related duties as assigned
  • Work with non-destructive Testing Inspector
  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues

QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • Possess a valid Journeyperson certificate of qualification issued by the appropriate provincial or federal authority  

Training

  • Must have valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP tickets

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Capable of working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must be able to follow directions

Journeyperson Pipefitter

POSITION SUMMARY Journeyperson Pipefitters possess the full range of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems.   Employees are expected to support and participate in a “culture of safety” and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness.   PROJECT DETAILS

  • Read and interpret red-line construction drawings and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc.)
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor packages
  • Prepare pipe and fittings for tacking, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble, and install pipe spools in the fabrication facility
  • Measure, cut, and thread pipe to the required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate systems

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority

Training

  • Must have valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP tickets

CWB Structural Welder

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Production while working in accordance with client specifications and weld procedures
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits
  • Cutting, gouging, grinding, welding of all types of structural materials
  • Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
  • Fit and weld skids and structural subassemblies
  • Use hand torches, welding machines, and power and hand tools in safe manner while reporting deficiencies
  • Understand and participate in the Quality Control Program
  • Follow written and oral instructions from the Foreperson/Lead Hand
  • Communicate with Foreperson/Lead Hand to identify material or equipment deficiencies
  • Communicate with other workers to ensure timely job progression
  • Organize and keep work area and equipment clean and functional
  • Ability to maintain work schedules and attendance to Strike acceptable standards

QUALIFICATIONS Education

  • Must possess a valid Journeyperson certificate from the appropriate provincial or federal authority
  • Must possess a valid CWB structural ticket

Training

  • Must have valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Fall Protection, and EWP tickets

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
  • Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow direction/learn on the job.
  • Comfortable working safely outdoors in any season
  • Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
  • Customer service experience in fast-paced settings are considered a benefit to this safety-sensitive position
