The Opportunity

You will provide technical and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant production operations. The position supports field operators through hands-on leadership, regular field presence, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet production, cost, and safety objectives.

What you will do

  • Achieve HSE, Budget, Production and Regulatory KPI’s
  • Champion HSE performance and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (AER, ABSA, OH&S)
  • Lead and mentor operational staff, with regular time spent in the field
  • Optimize production performance by reducing downtime and improving well and facility operations
  • Monitor operating parameters, production volumes, and data integrity in field systems
  • Prepare weekly production variance reports and support operating budget planning and accruals
  • Provide on-call and emergency response support at the district level
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Accounting, Land, Marketing, HSE, and Joint-venture partners
  • Manage the field chemical program in collaboration with Engineering and Asset Integrity
  • Work with third parties including other producers, landowner, regulators, and one calls.
     

What you will bring

  • 10-15 years of relevant industry experience as a Lead Operator and/or Foreman
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Formal operational and safety training including: First Aid / CPR, H2S Alive,
  • Proven and demonstrated commitment to HSE expectations and requirements
  • Software experience in field data capture (Prodview), SCADA and well optimization programs.
  • Proven success in the ability to be flexible and adapt to change
  • Must reside within a maximum of 50 km of the Drayton Valley office

  • You will work at our Drayton Valley office and support the Deep Basin operations

Contracts Administrator – Ft.McMurray, Alberta

Our client, a large oil and gas company, has an immediate opening for a Contracts Administrator to support their major project team. This is a 1 year contract role and is a camp based, fly-in, fly-out to Ft. McMurray on a 4/3 schedule. 

 Responsibilities:

•    Contract Lifecycle Management: Administer end-to-end contract processes including drafting, reviewing, executing, and maintaining contracts for goods and services in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams such as Procurement, Legal, Operations, and HSE to ensure contract terms meet project needs 
•    Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure all contracts adhere to corporate governance, industry standards, and applicable laws (e.g., AER, CER). Proactively identify and address contractual risks, liabilities, and obligations.
•    Vendor Engagement & Performance Monitoring: Support contractors onboarding and maintain accurate records of contractual obligations. Monitor contractors performance and escalate issues to ensure service quality and delivery timelines are met.
•    System & Data Integrity: Maintain accurate contract data within ERP systems (e.g., Ivalua, Maximo, OpenInvoice) and ensure timely updates to support reporting, audits, and projects decision-making.
•    Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Contribute to process optimization by identifying inefficiencies, recommending improvements, and supporting initiatives that enhance contract administration practices across the supply chain function.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of contract administration experience with focus in energy, oil and gas or industrial industries
  • Post secondary education in Supply Management field (SCMP, CPIM designation an asset)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (in particular, Word and Excel)
  • Experience with ERP computer systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ivalua, Maximo, Ariba
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment and manage vendor relationships effectively
  • Thrive in a busy and fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as this is a safety sensitive position

Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

Intermediate/Senior Environmental Specialist

SUMMIT, An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level land reclamation and restoration professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as an Environmental Specialist (Competition #25-06-0716) with a primary focus on Reclamation work scopes. This is a position that will be a combination of office and field duties. The successful applicant will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area(s).

JOB DUTIES:

You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projects
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the office
  • Field work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordination
  • Proficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetation
  • Supervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as required
  • Field and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’s
  • Data interpretation, analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and control
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Third-party stakeholder interactions
  • Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation
  • Proficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership and work independently
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills
